Well, things have been pretty busy down the DioBach neck of the woods. Here's a quick round up of the stuff I've been up to. The major focus has been Devil's Bridge. I'm up to my neck in sorting out the paperwork for the project, which is really boring. However, on the creative front, Chris has just finished the 1st rough cut of the film. It's in at about 100mins, which is a good 20 mins longer than I expected. I've seen a rough cut of the first 60 minutes so far, and what we've done has blown me away.
The last 40 minutes though should be pretty frickin' awesome. There's a lot of action and spurting blood to behold, so I'm really looking forward to seeing the full film tomorrow night. It's fair to say that so far, it's exceeded my expectations, and looks shit hot. Chris has cut the opening credits to Iggy and the Stooges' track "Gimme Danger", which works a treat. There is no film made in Wales that has the class and impact of the opening credits we have. It blew me away when I first saw it and I ended up watching it a good 5 or 6 times.
At the moment though, we don't know if we can use the track. I've been in contact with Iggy Pop's agents, and I'm waiting to hear if the paltry amount of money we can offer to use the track will be enough to get the use of it. I hope, I hope, I hope. It fuckin' rocks as it is. If we can't get the full release, then maybe we can get a festival license to use it. Still touching wood on that one. If it fails though, we do have an alternative up our sleeve.
Seriously though, what I've seen of it so far is top notch. We could potentially have a minor hit on our hands. The latest trailer we've put up can be seen on YouTube here. As it happens, Chris has already potentially secured a great contact that should help us sell the film. We're keeping our fingers crossed. With the rough cut done, the next big job is the soundtrack. we're expecting that to take another 2 months to complete.
In other news, all goes well with the baby. We know for a fact we're expecting a girl at some point in Feburary. Lots to do in the meantime - and we're on the go. We've managed to wangle a great builder who will be doing a lot of work for us in coming months to get the house ready for the arrival off the baby. It's all go to be sure. I have lots of photos to share too, as soon as I get the chance to sort them out. It's all go.
