The Heat Is On

Remarkable April heatwave has bad side effects here in Wales. We were up the woods by us yesterday, and it was like an accident waiting to happen. Dryed out bracken and scrub, it indeed looked liked the proverbial tinderbox.

It also dawned on me that we could be affected too. We are only a few hundred metres away from the edge of the Plymouth Woods. Scary. Looks like these folks in Port Talbot have had a lucky escape [BBC NEWS | UK | Forest fire laps at gardens]

Still - it looks like the heatwave has ended today and there is rain forcast. Looking at the ground yesterday, it will take a good few downpours to wet things up again.
