Skinny Fists Aloft

cover Had the joy of this album Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas To Heaven arriving from Amazon yesterday, and just giving it its second spin. Talk about a monster album, spread over two CDs and almost 90mins in total. Cinematic, beautiful and original. If you haven't heard of the band Godspeed You Black Emporer! Then it's no surprise, they are one of the world's best kept secrets. Post rock, ambient, noisey, innovative and original. I love these guys. This album is still new to me, and hasn't yet sunk in, but already, there are moments of the most sublime and transcendent beauty, I feel like using long words… My friend Big R from the states just got a copy, and she says she's been holding back the tears.
